Life flies by quickly. We are more likely to look ahead to what is to come than to enjoy what is now. My series ROESTIG AAN is about that. All paintings in this collection share the color rust. But it is also about aging processes that, contrary to what many people think, are very beautiful.

We admire roses for their beauty when they are in bloom, but the process of withering is also beautiful. The wilted red roses take on a beautiful range of rust tones. I have incorporated this leaf into Kiss from a Rose', named after Seal's beautiful song.
